Privacy policy

This policy explains how PackSaviour processes information when a Shopify merchant installs or uses the app.

Information we process

Shopify store identity, currency, and timezone for authentication, tenant separation, and localized forecasts.
Shopify order identifiers and revision timestamps, product identifiers, product types, collection identifiers, selected gift indicators, and order line-item quantities used to match packaging profiles and prevent duplicate processing.
Packaging supplies, suppliers, usage records, forecast settings, stock adjustments, and purchase lists entered or generated in the app.
Shopify session and staff authentication fields, which can include a staff or store-owner name and email address when Shopify supplies them. These fields are used only to authenticate access to the embedded app and are removed on session expiry, uninstall, or shop redaction.
Webhook identifiers, topics, timestamps, and one-way payload hashes used to prevent duplicate processing.
Privacy-request identifiers, delivery status, record counts, and a temporary export of the order-linked records requested by the merchant. The export is cleared after verified delivery.
A keyed, one-way fingerprint of each redacted order identifier, retained only to prevent delayed Shopify webhooks from recreating deleted order-linked records. The original order identifier cannot be recovered from this fingerprint without the application secret.
Network and device metadata, such as IP address, browser, operating system, and approximate geolocation, may be processed transiently by Shopify and Render to deliver and secure the service. PackSaviour does not save these values in its application database or request logs.

Information we do not store

PackSaviour does not store customer names, customer email addresses, phone numbers, billing or shipping addresses, payment information, or complete Shopify webhook payloads. It does not request or store the store owner’s phone number or physical address. The app does not sell personal information or use store data for advertising.

How information is used

Information is used only to authenticate the store, calculate and explain packaging usage, forecast packaging availability, generate merchant-requested purchase lists, and maintain the security and reliability of the service.

Service providers and disclosure

PackSaviour uses Shopify to authenticate merchants and receive the store data authorized during installation. Application and database infrastructure is hosted by Render. Information may also be disclosed to Google when a merchant chooses to contact support by email. It may also be disclosed when required by law or to protect the security and rights of merchants and the service. We do not sell merchant or customer data.

Security and retention

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access is limited to the store that owns each record. Shopify access sessions are removed when the app is uninstalled. When Shopify sends a customer data request, the matching order-linked records are prepared for verified delivery to the store owner within Shopify’s 30-day response period; the export is cleared after delivery while non-sensitive audit timestamps and counts remain. When Shopify sends a customer-redaction request, PackSaviour removes the Shopify order identifier and item-level rule evidence while retaining only de-identified packaging quantities needed to keep the merchant’s inventory ledger and reports accurate. A keyed one-way order fingerprint prevents late webhooks from restoring the deleted identifier. Store operational data, these fingerprints, and privacy-request audits are removed when Shopify sends its required shop-redaction request. Records may be retained longer only when required by law or necessary to resolve a security incident.

Your choices

Merchants can correct operational data inside the app and can uninstall PackSaviour from Shopify Admin. To ask about access, correction, deletion, or this policy, contact us using the address below. We may need to verify the requesting store before acting.
